There are sadly few world news bulletins within which a territory will not be mentioned where the UNHCR is active. For over 60 years it has been at the forefront of bringing relief to and maintaining the rights of refugees. In more than six decades, the agency has helped tens of millions of people restart their lives. Today, a staff of some 8,600 people in more than 125 countries continues to help some 33.9 million persons.
