To be eligible for this event, you must:
- Have 2+ years of work experience (excluding internships)
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Be proficient in English and have a working knowledge of at least one other official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish)
- Be motivated to work for an International Public Sector organization or considering a return to the sector

EPSO’s role is to serve the EU institutions by providing high quality, efficient and effective selection procedures that enable them to recruit the right person, for the right job, at the right time.
EPSO is an interinstitutional office responsible for selecting staff to work for all institutions and agencies of the European Union including the European Parliament, the Council, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the European Ombudsman. Each institution recruits staff from among the pool of successful candidates provided by EPSO.
Silvija Akif
Silvija AKIF is a psychologist with a post-university degree in HR & people management. She graduated from the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles). She started her career at SELOR (the Selection and Orientation Office of the Belgian federal government) as selection and recruitment manager, and trainer. Rapidly, she became the head of the Equality and Diversity Unit and developed the centre of expertise in equality and diversity management with her team, offering a catalogue of equality and diversity oriented solutions to both public and private sectors.
She joined the EU Parliament in 2012 as expert in disability and reasonable accommodations, and EPSO, end of 2013, as psychologist – adviser on selection policies with the special focus on equality and diversity. Silvija is currently working in EPSO’s Equality & Diversity Team and is part of the Outreach & External Relations Unit. Her main scope is to engage more actively with the EU diversity organisations in order to attract a more diverse talent to the EU careers with the ultimate goal of helping the EU civil service be more representative of the diversity of the citizens it serves.
