The European Personnel Selection Office’s (EPSO) role is to serve the EU institutions by providing high quality, efficient and effective selection procedures that enable them to recruit the right person, for the right job, at the right time.
EPSO is an interinstitutional office responsible for selecting staff to work for all institutions and agencies of the European Union including the European Parliament, the Council, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the European Ombudsman. Each institution recruits staff from among the pool of successful candidates provided by EPSO.

Silvija started her career at SELOR (the selection and orientation office of the Belgian federal government) as selection and recruitment manager, and trainer. Very soon, she became the head of the Equality and Diversity Unit and developed the centre of expertise in equality and diversity management with her team. She joined the EU Parliament in 2012 as expert in equality and diversity, and she has been working for EPSO (the European Personnel Selection Office) since 2013 as senior psychologist – adviser on selection policies with the focus on equality and diversity management. Recently, she joined EPSO’s Outreach and External Relations Unit where she is focusing on attracting a more diverse talent.
Mirriam Phiri is a DEI professional who is passionate about fostering inclusive workplaces. With a background in Human Resources, Mirriam specializes in mainstreaming inclusion into organisational policies and processes. Currently working as a Diversity and Inclusion Officer at UNOPS, she holds an MSC in international Development from the University of Edinburgh and has over seven years of experience in championing diversity and amplifying marginalized voices.
Maria Teresa Lago Lao is a seasoned Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist with over eight years of experience driving impactful change in various country contexts and within the UN System. In her current role, Teresa leads the global gender parity and disability inclusion initiatives at UNDP, with a focus on enhancing an enabling working environment that is inclusive of everyone and celebrates its diversity. Teresa’s professional experience is supported by a genuine belief in the universal benefits of diverse, equitable, inclusive, flexible, and safe workplace cultures. With a master’s in clinical Neuropsychology, research and project management, Teresa blends research-backed strategies with real-world impact in her pursuit of a more inclusive society.
Natalia Sanz is a seasoned Transport Specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) since 2019, where she plays a crucial role in driving strategic transport projects. Her professional journey includes an impactful ten-year tenure at the Inter-American Development Bank as a Senior Analyst in Resource Planning and Administration and Transport Specialist. Here, Natalia honed her skills in effective resource allocation and organisational strategy, as well as leading the origination, preparation and implementation of transportation projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her experience was further enriched as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, where she focused on data-driven research and analysis. Natalia’s career began at the Agencia Cordoba de Inversion y Financiamiento as a Junior Consultant, laying the foundation for her expertise in consultancy and infrastructure. Her diverse experiences across global institutions underscore her versatility and deep insight into the infrastructure sector.
